Overview: Infinitas Foundation Advisory Council

The Infinitas Foundation Advisory Council is composed of practitioners, academics, advocates, and thought leaders. Whereas the Infinitas Foundation Board of Directors focuses on governance and has fiduciary responsibility, the Infinitas Foundation Advisory Council provides advice, insights, and connections that can have a powerful impact on the nonprofit. Advisory Council representatives shape the nonprofit’s outreach strategy by:
- Advice: Providing advice and recommendations (including advice, insights, and connections) to the nonprofit’s senior leadership (President, VP & Treasurer, and Secretary).
- Insights: Sharing insights that may impact the nonprofit and promote the Infinitas Foundation with their respective organization and the greater community.
- Connections: Connecting the nonprofit leadership to contacts, organizations, and resources through networking and planning events.
*Please note that this is a volunteer and unpaid role.*
Commitment and Expectations
- Commitment: Serve as part of the Infinitas Foundation Advisory Council for 1 year.
- Meetings: Attend quarterly meetings with the advisory council and the Infinitas Foundation senior leadership (estimated 1 meeting every 3 months).
- Engagement: Engage virtually with the advisory council representatives and Infinitas Foundation senior leadership and participate in virtual brainstorming sessions, document development, and other engagements as needed.
Advisory Council: Committees
Governance Committee: Advises the Infinitas Foundation senior leadership on typical nonprofit governance issues such as board member recruitment and onboarding, periodic assessments of the board, and audits of bylaws.
Seeking individuals with the following backgrounds:
- Legal Background: JD Lawyers and/or academic masters of laws
- Accounting / Finance Background: Accountant / CPA, Tax Preparer, and/or Financial Analyst
- Leadership Management: Experience as a President/Vice President, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Operations Officer (COO), Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), Chief Legal Officer (CLO), Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Chief Innovation Officer / Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Fundraising Committee: Helps the Infinitas Foundation raise funds by creating plans and projects and helping to run the projects for the nonprofit. Examples of fundraising projects include but are not limited to: book drive, shoe/clothing drive, social media fundraising campaign, 5K, and an annual gala.
Seeking individuals with the following backgrounds:
- Fundraisers: Donation Coordinators, Development Associates, Donors, Grant Writers, Legacy Giving, Annual Giving Officers, Development Assistants, Major Gift Catalyst, Digital Engagement Officer, Director of Donor Experience, Senior Engagement and Major Gift Officer.
- Marketers & Public Relations: Director of Marketing, Marketer, Marketing Analyst, Marketing Consultant, Marketing Manager, Marketing and Promotions Manager, Marketing Specialist, Growth Marketing, Digital Marketer, Growth Marketer
- Event Management and Event Planning:
Programmatic Committee: Support the Infinitas Foundation by either running programs and/or advising program development including but not limited to: respite for individuals with developmental disabilities, retreat events for caregiving families, family-focused and accessible community events, and educational workshops on neurodiversity/neuroscience, caregiving, special education and the law.
Seeking individuals with the following backgrounds:
- Health Practitioners: Developmental Pediatricians, Psychologists, Psychiatrist, Neurologist, Neuroscientist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, Behavioral Specialists, Naturopath/Holistic/Integrative Practitioners, PANDAS Doctors.
- Advocates & Self Advocates: Professional Advocates, Family Advocates, and Self-Advocates.
- Educational & Legal: Special Education – Principal / Assistant Principal, Special Education Teachers, Special Education Lawyers, Human Rights (Human Rights Educator, Human Rights Researcher, Human Rights Practitioner), Disability Rights (Disability Rights Educator, Disability Rights Researcher, Disability Rights Practitioner), Real Estate Background (Real Estate Agent, Real Estate Lawyer, Zoning/Planning Background)
